Turner Aluminium Castings specialises in manufacturing fully finished aluminium castings using Low Pressure and Gravity diecasting processes. Established in 1980, Turner Aluminium Castings Ltd operates from a purpose built aluminium foundry and cnc machine shop with a total floor area of 31,000sq feet. The aluminium foundry site is ideally located adjacent to the main A14 arterial road that connects the M1 and M6 to the A1.

From its inception the aluminium foundry company recognised the growing need in the aluminium castings market was the ability to for aluminium foundries to supply fully finished machined aluminium castings direct to customers assembly lines. It has therefore developed from day one its aluminium foundry and machining facility, whilst offering other post processes such as plating powdercoating and assembly to compliment its supply of aluminium castings. The aluminium foundry and machine shop has also been resourced to develop new aluminium castings in partnership with our customers.Today using the very best skilled and dedicated engineering team, and the latest development tools in our modern aluminium foundry we can create new aluminium castings,supply prototype aluminium castings,manufacture the moulds for the aluminium castings, produce the production aluminium castings, machine and wet paint, powdercoat or plate them. February 2014 Two New Haas VF4SS CNC Machining Centres Purchased . Due to winning two long term contracts to supply machined castings to a Japanese vehicle manufactuer and UK pump manufacturer and to keep up with demand for our machined aluminium castings to existing customers we have invested in two extra Haas VF4SS Machining centres. The £190,000 investment brings the total of VF4SS machines owned to six . Both new machines have again been specified with 310mm diameter 4th axis as are our four existing VF4SS machines.

July 2013 New Haas VF4SS CNC Machining Centre. To keep up with demand for our machined aluminium castings we have invested in a extra Haas VF4SS Machining centre. The £90,000 machining centre is the fouth VF4SS machine we have purchase and has now become the preferred machine. Fitted with a 310mm diameter 4th axis as are our other three VF4SS machine simplifies the planning of work through the machine shop as all fixtures fir all machines

November 2009 New Aluminium Sand foundry. Concious that the UK will not be in recession forever, the Directors of Turner Aluminium Castings have been positioning themselves, through various investment projects through out the foundry to take advantage of new markets . To this end Turner Aluminium has just invested in a new up to date aluminium sand foundry plant. The system supplied by Omega Foundry Equipment of Peterborough has enabled the aluminium sand foundry to double its output .The new plant has also greatly improved the quality of the sand castings we manufacture. Future investment in the aluminium sand foundry will be in the recycling of the waste sand used to manufacture the aluminium sand castings.

Sept 2008 New Very narrow aisle ForkLift Truck. Having moved the storage of our casting tools and finished aluminium castings from our foundry into a purpose built aluminium castings warehouse we have now invested in a new narrow aisle FLT. This has ensured that in the warehouse pallet storage space is maximised and space taken up by access aisles has been minimise.The "Bendi" forklift supplied to our aluminium foundry by Translift has a pivoting body allowing a very tight turning circle which enable it to store and remove Euro size pallets full of finished aluminium castings in aisles other standard forklifts could not operate in..

August 2008 aluminium foundry We moved production into our new aluminium foundry production area of our new factory last year. The move has improved the work flow of aluminium castings throughout the factory and improve working conditions for all of the team involved in producing our aluminium castings in our sand foundry, gravity foundry and low pressure casting foundries..

 

July 2013 New "Jumbo" Purchased ! A further Ford Transit Jumbo has been added to the fleet .Our oldest Ford Transit Jumbo "AK54" has been retired from the fleet having done sterling work and over 250,000 miles delivering aluminium castings since 2004

July 2010 XYZ SMX5000 Toolroom CNC Mill Aquired We are pleased to annouced the arrival of a new £40,000 CNC toolroom mill. Once installed it will help with the increased workload for new in-house manufactured gravity and low pressure die moulds. This brings our total number of CNC toolroom mills to three.

August 2008 New Vertical Milling Machine This new £90,000 super speed 4 AXIS CNC Vertical Machine,installed in August brings our total number of CNC machines to sixteen (16). We are now fully equiped to manufacture any aluminium castings desired Our CNC machine shop is able to offere a full machining facility for aluminium castings using the most accurate and fastest machines availaible in the market place today . July 2008 New "Jumbo" Purchased ! Customers buying components from our aluminium foundries will have noticed recently their aluminium castings are being delivered in our new Van. The Ford Transit "Jumbo" van brings the total number of company operated delivery vehicles to four ,three of them being Ford Transit "Jumbos" This will ensure we are always able to deliver your aluminium castings when required. Environmental Responsibility People think of aluminium foundries as dirty,smelly ,noisy and dangerous.... At Turner Aluminium castings we are trying to change that perception.We melt using modern electrical furnace that do not produce dangerous flue gas in our aluminium foundry ,we recycle 100% of the aluminium waste from the aluminium casting process.We recycle 100% of the steel we use,we recycle 80% of our packaging cardboard,we recycle 95% of our paper waste,we collect rain water from our roof which is then stored in a large water tank before being distributed through out the aluminium foundry. Hermetic aluminium castings can now be supplied from our aluminium foundries where historically aluminium castings were thought inappropriate Our aluminium foundry is now able to supply machined aluminium castings that are hermetically sealed for 40 flying years.
